Villa Alfina is situated on the Tuscan hillside with wonderful views over the Latium, Umbrian and Tuscan countryside.

Built in the early 1920s, its 275 square meters of living space have been completely modernized without sacrificing its original detail. Villa Alfina combines elegance and comfort with carefully selected antiques, imported mattresses, fine towels, linens, goose-down duvets and loads of pillows.

Guest can relax in the living room and escape with Italian and English satellite TV or congregate in the dining room around the grand table and fireplace. It is an exceptional space to entertain friends or relax with family. You’ll find yourself at home anywhere in the Villa.

Guests are welcome to use the swimming pool and sun-bathing facilities at the adjacent Hotel Nuovo Castello free of charge.

The villa’s 2,500 square meters of landscaped gardens are located on the edge of the medieval village of Torre Alfina, overlooking Italy’s Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve.

- There is a balcony with view of the nature reserve and Tuscany’s Mount Amiata.

Downstairs

Outside Grounds
The garden is wild yet contained, it is filled with majestic trees, lavender and grapes. It is a mix with bursts of colour from a variety of flowers thanks to the Villa's caretaker. If you time it right, he’ll gladly share the bounty of the vegetable garden. He will even help you put together a barbeque using all local ingredients. In winter, you can roast chestnuts that have fallen from the 150 year-old tree in the side yard.

The focal point of the garden is the fabulous pergola, offering an oasis of shade and hospitality. It’s easy to be transported away by birdsong, the braying of donkeys, or church bells tolling in the piazza. The pergola is a perfect gathering point for many, or a tranquil refuge for one.

Villa Alfina is the ideal base for you to explore the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside, or as a perfect retreat after visiting nearby Rome or Florence.

It is a landmark property that sits prestigiously in the shadow of an impeccable restored medieval castle. It is located in the Alta Tuscia (Etruscan Highlands) region of central Italy.

The picturesque village of Torre Alfina is conveniently located within close distance to many of Italy's most popular tourist attractions. Whether you prefer exploring the Umbrian hill towns, visit Tuscan vineyards, rejuvenate yourself at a world class thermal spa, or simply sit under the pergola and enjoy ‘la dolce vita’, Villa Alfina offers more than you can imagine.

The Villa is a two-minute walk to the medieval village of Torre Alfina in “Alta Tuscia” (the Estruscan Highlands). The village is perched on a hilltop that is virtually the intersection of Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria. In the heart of the village is the castle that once belonged to the Monaldeschi family and then the Bourbon del Monte family before it was bought in the late 1880s by Edoardo Cahen, who was given the title Marquis of Torre Alfina.

The village itself has extraordinary views and two fine traditional restaurants. In addition, two small shops stocked with essentials, two cafes and the finest gelateria in the area are also found along its cobblestone and children-safe streets.

The Villa also borders the Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve, a vast expanse of beautiful forests and nature trails for walking and horseback riding.

The splendid vacation area of Lago di Bolsena, Europe's largest volcanic lake and home to freshwater fishing, sailing, swimming, sunbathing, and horseback riding are a short distance away.

A half-hour drive from the villa will bring you to the most popular tourist towns of Cività di Bagnoregio, Orvieto, Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana and Viterbo, as well as the spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni.

Most of our visitors do not confine themselves to the immediate area, but prefer to venture further into the regions of Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria.

No matter when you come you’ll find something special at Villa Alfina. The village embraces its local traditions and holds a festival at least once a season. During summer months there is something happening every weekend in Villa Alfina or in the surrounding villages.
